Expert Septic System Service
For homes not connected to city sewers, a septic system removes waste and wastewater using one or more tanks, a leach field, and bacteria colonies to safely carry away and filter the waste. Len’s Excavating provides the expert maintenance and servicing critical to keeping these systems running safely and efficiently, including routine inspections of the full system and regularly scheduled pumping of the tanks.
Septic Maintenance Service from Len’s
We recommend keeping a regular schedule to get your system inspected and pump your septic tanks to get the best service from your septic system and to protect the leach field. How frequently your tanks need to be pumped will depend upon the size of your system and your family’s usage and habits.
- Most systems should be inspected every one to three years.
- Tanks should be pumped on a regular schedule.
- We test water flow and all parts.
- We check the tanks, lids, and lines for cracks, leaks, or blockages.
- Inspection of the leach field for pooling water or soft spots.
If you have noticed slow shower or tub drains or gurgling in sinks and toilets, pumping the tanks will usually resolve these issues.

What you can do to protect your septic system
In addition to scheduling regular maintenance with Len’s Excavating, there are several things you can do to ensure your septic system gives you many years of service.
- Avoid overloading your drainage system by using water heavy appliances (washing machines, dishwashers) one at a time.
- Don’t flush items meant for the trash can.
- Never pour fats or grease down your kitchen drain and limit solids you run through the garbage disposal.
- Do not plant or park vehicles on your leach field.
- Use additives to boost the bacterial colonies needed to breakdown and filter waste through your septic system. We can recommend products with naturally occurring bacteria that are safe for your tank, system components, and the environment.
